Some strategies that may help:
Listening Test - you cannot read questions & listen at the same time -
- computers can multi task – we as humans can not;
- attempting to both read the questions and listen to the test audio at the same time is not the best strategy.
Speaking & Writing Test - if you fail to plan, you plan to fail -
- this is particularly true for the Speaking & Writing tests;
- effective planning is a simple strategy with powerful results.
Listening Test- what you do in the time given to read the questions determines you grade -
- specific activities in preparation to actually listen are required;
- understand the structure of any listening exam.
Speaking Test - learn to speak effectively & use these skills in the test -
- plan what you are going to say with I,B,C;
- never answer a question directly, rather build a story.
Reading Tests do not measure your English ability -
- they measure your problem solving ability;
- understand the exam is about time management.
Speaking Tests - most of what you say is communicated with body language -
- smile & maintain eye contact;
- display confident body language.
