Purpose:

  • These IELTS Preparation Lessons cover the four skills of Writing, Reading, Listening & Speaking which are intensively studied following VietnamEnglish’s unique teaching material.

Lesson Outcomes:

There are some common key strategies to your success with all four IELTS exams.

The IELTS exams test the student’s English ability and crucially their problem solving ability. With this in mind, it is important to understand the structure of each exam and then apply practiced techniques to solve various problems.

IELTS Writing Task 1 & 2 Preparation Course

Purpose:

  • These IELTS Writing Preparation Lessons cover the key key strategies required for success. In addition working with students to ensure their writing is effective from a Western approach in a professional manner – not just the standard academic vocabulary.

Lesson Outcomes:

Initially time spent within the class is used to discuss the definition of an ‘Effective Writer’.

This is followed by reviewing key strategies required for success. These include:

  • understand the exam format;
  • understand the question;
  • time management;
  • plan your writing;
  • format your writing correctly;
  • learn to paraphrase the question effectively;
  • a strong conclusion is required.
Effective Speaking Preparation Course

Purpose:

  • These IELTS Speaking Preparation Lessons cover the key key strategies required for success. Just as importantly, it encourages Students to understand what an Effective Speaker actually is and practice these skills.

Lesson Outcomes:

Initially time spent within the class is used to discuss the definition of an ‘Effective Speaker’.

This is followed by reviewing key strategies required for success. These include:

  • understand the exam format;
  • understand what an effective speaker is;
  • speak slowly, use pauses, modulation & tone;
  • think about 5 speaking rules;
  • listen for keywords & read questions carefully;
  • plan your speaking;
  • understand the first thing you say in an exam is vitally important;
  • understand the importance of building a story around your answers.
IELTS Reading Preparation Course

Purpose:

  • Theses IELTS Reading Preparation Lessons cover the key key strategies required for success.

Lesson Outcomes:

The key strategies required for success include:

  • understand the exam format;
  • think about a realistic achievement strategy;
  • understand the exam is about time management;
  • using keywords is critical to your success;
  • choose keywords effectively;
  • learn to think synonyms and paraphrases quickly;
  • develop a reading strategy;
  • understand how to complete each task type time efficiently;

Purpose:

  • This IELTS Listening Preparation Lessons cover the key key strategies required for success. 

Lesson Outcomes:

The key strategies required for success include:

  • understand the exam format;
  • think about a realistic achievement strategy;
  • understand you cannot read questions and listen at the same time;
  • use keywords effectively & think about synonyms / paraphrases;
  • understand the structure of any listening exam;
  • what you do in the time given to read questions determines you grade;
  • understand there are two types of listening;
  • understand the question.
